چکیده

Multi-homogeneous homotopy continuation method is one of the most efficient approaches in solving all isolated solutions of a polynomial system of equations. Finding the optimal partition of variables with the minimal multihomogeneous Bézout number is clearly an optimization problem. Multi-homogeneous continuation using the optimal partition of variables reduces the computational cost in path tracking to the minimum. In this article, a heuristic method for finding the optimal variable partition is constructed based on backward greedy idea. Numerical examples show the efficiency of the method.

On The Simulation of Partial Differential Equations Using the Hybrid of Fourier Transform and Homotopy Perturbation Method

In the present work, a hybrid of Fourier transform and homotopy perturbation method is developed for solving the non-homogeneous partial differential equations with variable coefficients. The Fourier transform is employed with combination of homotopy perturbation method (HPM), the so called Fourier transform homotopy perturbation method (FTHPM) to solve the partial differential equations. The c...

Minimizing multi-homogeneous Bézout numbers by a local search method

Consider the multi-homogeneous homotopy continuation method for solving a system of polynomial equations. For any partition of variables, the multi-homogeneous Bézout number bounds the number of isolated solution curves one has to follow in the method. This paper presents a local search method for finding a partition of variables with minimal multi-homogeneous Bézout number. As with any other l...

A Tabu Search Method for Finding Minimal Multi - Homogeneous Bézout Number Hassan

Problem statement: A homotopy method has proven to be reliable for computing all of the isolated solutions of a multivariate polynomial system. The multi-homogeneous Bézout number of a polynomial system is the number of paths that one has to trace in order to compute all of its isolated solutions. Each partition of the variables corresponds to a multi-homogeneous Bézout number. It is a crucial ...

Bi-objective optimization of multi-server intermodal hub-location-allocation problem in congested systems: modeling and solution

A new multi-objective intermodal hub-location-allocation problem is modeled in this paper in which both the origin and the destination hub facilities are modeled as an M/M/m queuing system. The problem is being formulated as a constrained bi-objective optimization model to minimize the total costs as well as minimizing the total system time. A small-size problem is solved on the GAMS software t...
